Happening at Heights High

Heights High sophomore Cordelia Bender spent two weeks as a junior intern at a North Carolina sea turtle rescue center, where she helped care for injured and sick turtles and even took part in releasing 11 back into the ocean. The experience strengthened her passion for marine biology and conservation and renewed her dream of making a difference in the lives of sea turtles.

Stephanie Thomas has served Heights High School since 2023 as an assistant principal. Thomas has also been a teacher and an instructional coach in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, where she provided building-level strategic planning and coached teachers on research-based instructional practices.

Meet Chelsea, E'Niya, and Jayla, three class of 2026 graduates who were part of the Superintendent's Cadre. These Cadre members have been meeting with Liz Kirby monthly and have been instrumental in addressing everything from student mental health to the high school's policies on school safety and building procedures.
