Stephanie Thomas has served Heights High School since 2023 as an assistant principal. Thomas has also been a teacher and an instructional coach in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, where she provided building-level strategic planning and coached teachers on research-based instructional practices.

Meet Chelsea, E'Niya, and Jayla, three class of 2026 graduates who were part of the Superintendent's Cadre. These Cadre members have been meeting with Liz Kirby monthly and have been instrumental in addressing everything from student mental health to the high school's policies on school safety and building procedures.

Members of Heights High's graduating class of 2026 walked out of the building on the evening of May 5 a little closer to their future dreams, thanks to the $128,300 in gifts they received from the community at the Senior Recognition Awards Program.

Heights High School's chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) inducted 73 new members on May 19, 2026. NHS recognizes student achievement and encourages dedication to the four pillars: scholarship, service, character, and leadership.

Seven Heights High School student-athletes from the Class of 2026 signed their official college letters of intent during a spring signing ceremony that was held on Monday, May 18, 2026 in front of their families, teammates, coaches, and friends. The group included four basketball players, one baseball player, one lacrosse player, and a wrestler.

The 13th annual AVID Signing Day on April 24, 2026 was a joyous and love-filled occasion where 48 seniors proudly proclaimed their postsecondary plans. The ceremony is patterned after the athletic signing day that many high schools host. But the AVID event is all about recognizing the students as they take the next step in their academic and career journeys.

In addition to having enormous success in the pool this year, the Heights High swim teams have earned national recognition as All-American Scholar Teams for achieving among the highest grade point averages in the country.

Heights High's Students for Free Speech members had an outstanding performance by placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at the Heights of Greater Cleveland's Rotary Club's annual Four-Way event back in March. The students picked current topics to research, created presentations, and gave a speech based on the Four-Way Test to an assembly of local Rotarians.

The Heights High School Drama Club will present the stage adaptation of William Shakespeare's "As You Like It" for their annual spring play on April 16, 17, and 18 at 7 p.m. and April 18 at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of the high school. The play features seniors Abs Burkle, Violet Carter, Tulie Gosselin, Nora Lubbers, Carl Nicosia, Emma Preston, Kendall Thompson, and Clara Walker.

Both institutions will focus on simplicity to deliver clear communication and streamlined processes, breaking down barriers to applying to college.

Fourteen Cleveland Heights High School students in the Heights Career Tech programs were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on February 26. The NTHS is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize and empower students and teachers in Career and Technical Education.

Heights High will host the 29th annual Cleveland Northeast Suburban College Fair on Thursday, March 19 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. in the high school's competition gym. The fair will also include an "Is an HBCU for Me?" workshop, an informational session from College Now for junior families, and opportunities from underclassman to learn more about Career and Technical Education.

The Heights High Swim Cadets invite the community to "Set Sail" at their 87th annual show. The three-night performance will run from March 5 through 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school natatorium. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased in advance from a Swim Cadet or at the door.

The Heights High Art Department is proud to announce that four of their seniors will have artwork exhibited in the Ileen Kelner Juried High School Art Show. The exhibition is located in the Beachwood Community Center and the student artwork will be on display until Sunday, March 29.
